Abstract

Membaca itu sangat penting karena membaca adalah suatu proses yang dilakukan untuk memperoleh pesan atau informasi. Selain untuk mendapatkan informasi, membaca juga bermanfaat untuk memahami seluruh informasi yang tertera dalam teks bacaan sehingga dapat menjadi bekal ilmu pengetahuan (pengembangan intelektual) untuk masa depan pembaca itu sendiri, dapat menstimulasi mental, mengurangi stres, menambah kosa kata dan memperluas pemikiran seseorang. Pada hakikatnya membaca adalah suatu proses yang bersifat fisik dan psikologis, dimana kita mengamati tulisan secara visual dan berpikir dalam mengolah informasi dalam bacaan tersebut. Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan studi literatur atau kajian pustaka. Ketika kita semakin sering membaca, maka secara tidak langsung menambah atau memudahkan kita dalam keterampilan menulis.
