Pelaksanaan Service Learning pada Program We Do Care Dalam Memperkuat Sikap Empati Siswa

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan service learning pada program we do care serta menganalisis strategi penerapannya dalam memperkuat sikap empati siswa di SMP Mutiara Bunda Bandung. Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh rendahnya kepedulian dan empati siswa yang ditunjukan melalui sikap acuh terhadap permasalahan sosial di lingkungan sekolah. Service learning dipandang sebagai pendekatan pembelajaran yang relevan karena mengintegrasikan kegiatan pelayanan sosial dengan tujuan pembelajaran melalui refleksi terstruktur. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus yang dilaksanakan di SMP Mutiara Bunda Bandung. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui triangulasi teknik yaitu wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa penerapan service learning pada program we do care dilaksanakan melalui 3 tahapan utama, yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan kegiatan, dan tahap refleksi serta evaluasi yang menjadi unsur kunci dalam memperkuat sikap empati siswa karena mengaitkan pengalaman siswa dengan nilai-nilai kewarganegaraan seperti tanggung jawab sosial, empati, solidaritas, dan partisipasi sosial.
