Teori Fungsionalisme Dalam Kajian Sosiologi: Konsep, Perkembangan, dan Relevansinya Dalam Kehidupan Masyarakat Modern

Teori fungsionalisme merupakan salah satu perspektif utama dalam sosiologi yang memandang masyarakat sebagai suatu sistem yang terdiri atas bagian-bagian yang saling berkaitan dan bekerja sama untuk mencapai keseimbangan sosial. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji konsep dasar teori fungsionalisme, perkembangan pemikirannya, tokoh-tokoh utama yang berkontribusi terhadap teori tersebut, serta relevansinya dalam kehidupan masyarakat modern. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi kepustakaan (library research) dengan menganalisis berbagai literatur ilmiah yang relevan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa teori fungsionalisme memberikan pemahaman mengenai bagaimana institusi sosial seperti keluarga, pendidikan, agama, ekonomi, dan politik berperan dalam menjaga stabilitas masyarakat. Meskipun mendapat kritik karena dianggap terlalu menekankan keteraturan dan mengabaikan konflik sosial, teori fungsionalisme tetap memiliki kontribusi penting dalam memahami dinamika sosial kontemporer. Oleh karena itu, teori ini masih relevan digunakan sebagai kerangka analisis dalam berbagai kajian sosial dan pendidikan.
