Strategi Peningkatan Peran Dokter Batalyon Infanteri 512/Quratara Yudha Dalam Pencegahan Malaria di Daerah Pengamanan Perbatasan Republik Indonesia–Papua Nugini

Wilayah pengamanan perbatasan Republik Indonesia–Papua Nugini (RI–PNG) merupakan kawasan strategis dengan kondisi geografis yang berat, keterbatasan infrastruktur, serta tingkat endemisitas malaria yang tinggi. Kondisi tersebut menjadikan malaria sebagai ancaman kesehatan yang dapat memengaruhi kesiapan tempur prajurit dan efektivitas pelaksanaan tugas pengamanan perbatasan. Dalam situasi ini, Dokter Batalyon Infanteri 512/Quratara Yudha memiliki peran penting dalam menjaga kesehatan prajurit dan mendukung keberhasilan operasi satuan. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis strategi pencegahan malaria yang diterapkan oleh dokter batalyon, mengidentifikasi hambatan yang dihadapi dalam pelaksanaannya, serta merumuskan strategi untuk meningkatkan peran dokter batalyon dalam pencegahan malaria di wilayah perbatasan RI–PNG. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan model Miles, Huberman, dan Saldaña yang meliputi kondensasi data, penyajian data, serta penarikan dan verifikasi kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dokter batalyon telah melaksanakan berbagai upaya pencegahan malaria melalui edukasi kesehatan, pemberian kemoprofilaksis, penggunaan kelambu berinsektisida, pengendalian lingkungan, serta deteksi dini kasus malaria. Namun, pelaksanaan strategi tersebut masih menghadapi sejumlah kendala, antara lain keterbatasan sarana dan logistik kesehatan, kondisi geografis yang sulit dijangkau, serta faktor sosial budaya masyarakat. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa peningkatan peran dokter batalyon memerlukan dukungan kebijakan, penguatan kapasitas sumber daya kesehatan, pengembangan sistem pencegahan yang terintegrasi, serta kolaborasi antara unsur militer dan sipil. Selain itu, diperlukan penguatan surveilans kesehatan, peningkatan kompetensi tenaga medis, serta optimalisasi logistik untuk meningkatkan efektivitas pencegahan malaria. Upaya tersebut diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kesehatan prajurit, melindungi masyarakat perbatasan, dan mendukung ketahanan pertahanan negara di wilayah RI–PNG
