Abstract
This research examines health policies related to stroke prevention and management in Indonesia through a literature review method. Stroke is a leading cause of death and disability in Indonesia, making prevention and management efforts a priority. The research findings indicate that policies include public education programs on risk factors such as smoking and dietary patterns, early screening for hypertension and diabetes, and promotion of physical activity. Management focuses on improving access to emergency health services, establishing stroke units in hospitals, training healthcare personnel, implementing clinical guidelines, and post-stroke rehabilitation programs. Major challenges include limited human resources and healthcare facilities, uneven distribution of services, and insufficient public awareness of stroke prevention and management. The study concludes that while policies have had a positive impact, there is a need for increased budget allocation, healthcare personnel training, public education, and healthcare infrastructure development in rural areas to address these challenges.
