Analisis Korelasi Minat dan Pemahaman Siswa SMA Kelas X terhadap Puisi Kontemporer: Studi Kasus pada SMA Free Methodist 1 Medan

Abstract


Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis korelasi antara minat dan pemahaman siswa SMA kelas X terhadap puisi kontemporer. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 23 siswa kelas X SMA Free Methodist 1 Medan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan instrumen berupa kuesioner skala Likert yang mengukur minat dan pemahaman siswa terhadap puisi kontemporer. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat korelasi positif antara minat siswa dan kemampuan mereka dalam memahami puisi kontemporer. Sebanyak 73,9% siswa menunjukkan minat tinggi dalam mempelajari puisi kontemporer, sementara 43,5% siswa menyatakan bahwa mereka dapat memahami makna tersirat dalam puisi. Selain itu, penggunaan media kreatif, termasuk media visual, terbukti berperan penting dalam meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap puisi. Namun, beberapa siswa masih menunjukkan sikap netral dalam hal keterlibatan dan pemahaman mendalam terhadap puisi, yang mengindikasikan bahwa ada faktor lain yang mungkin memengaruhi proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini memberikan implikasi penting bagi strategi pengajaran sastra di sekolah menengah, terutama dalam hal penggunaan media kreatif dan pendekatan yang lebih personal untuk meningkatkan minat siswa. Meskipun demikian, penelitian ini memiliki beberapa keterbatasan, seperti ukuran sampel yang terbatas dan metode pengumpulan data yang hanya menggunakan kuesioner. Untuk penelitian selanjutnya, disarankan agar menggunakan metode yang lebih beragam serta mempertimbangkan faktor-faktor eksternal yang dapat memengaruhi minat dan pemahaman siswa. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi bagi pengembangan model pembelajaran sastra di tingkat sekolah menengah atas dan meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa dalam apresiasi puisi kontemporer.
