Kebijakan Antara Van Den Bosch Dengan Thomas Stamford Rafless

Penelitian ini membahas kebijakan kolonial yang diterapkan oleh Van den Bosch dan Thomas Stamford Raffles di Indonesia, serta dampak kebijakan tersebut terhadap masyarakat lokal. Van den Bosch, dengan sistem Cultuurstelsel atau Tanam Paksa, berupaya mengatasi krisis keuangan Belanda melalui eksploitasi sumber daya dan tenaga kerja di Jawa. Sementara itu, Raffles memperkenalkan reformasi yang lebih liberal, seperti penghapusan monopoli dan penerapan sistem sewa tanah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode sejarah dengan pendekatan deskriptif-kualitatif, mengumpulkan data dari sumber primer dan sekunder. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun kedua kebijakan bertujuan meningkatkan pendapatan kolonial, dampaknya terhadap masyarakat Indonesia sangat berbeda. Kebijakan Van den Bosch cenderung lebih eksploitatif dan merugikan, sedangkan kebijakan Raffles lebih mengarah pada perubahan struktural yang memberikan sedikit ruang bagi perkembangan ekonomi lokal.
