Artikel ini mengeksplorasi peran penting yang dimainkan oleh Kongsi Dagang Inggris (East India Company, EIC) dan Kongsi Dagang Belanda (Vereenigde Oostindische Compagnie, VOC) dalam membentuk jaringan perdagangan antar benua selama periode kolonial. Melalui analisis hubungan perdagangan antara Eropa, Asia, dan wilayah lainnya, tulisan ini menunjukkan bagaimana kedua kongsi dagang tersebut tidak hanya terlibat dalam ekspansi kolonial, tetapi juga menciptakan dinamika baru dalam ekonomi global. Dengan memperhatikan strategi monopoli, eksploitasi sumber daya, dan hubungan politik yang terjalin dengan kerajaan lokal, jurnal ini menyoroti dampak jangka panjang yang ditinggalkan oleh EIC dan VOC terhadap perdagangan internasional. Diskusi juga mencakup persaingan antara kedua kongsi dagang dan dampaknya terhadap struktur sosial dan ekonomi di wilayah-wilayah yang mereka kuasai.
