Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dampak pengelolaan air dan perlindungan tanah pada produktivitas pertanian berkelanjutan di Sumatra Utara, dengan fokus pada pengembalian Rabhan Batu. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian literatur dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa erosi tanah dan kualitas air yang buruk adalah faktor utama yang mempengaruhi produktivitas pertanian di wilayah tersebut. Teknik konservasi seperti teras, menanam sistem penutup tanah, dan menggunakan sistem irigasi yang efisien mengurangi tingkat erosi dan meningkatkan efisiensi konsumsi air sebesar 30-40%. Selain itu, pengembangan terintegrasi dari permukaan tangkapan permukaan (DAS) dan infrastruktur irigasi memainkan peran penting dalam menjaga ketersediaan air bersih untuk pertanian. Studi ini menyimpulkan bahwa strategi konservasi lahan dan air berkelanjutan yang direncanakan diperlukan untuk meningkatkan produktivitas pertanian dan mendukung keselamatan gizi di Sumatra Utara.
