Abstract

Sebagai negara yang masuk dalam 10 besar negara dengan luas perairan terbesar, Indonesia dianugerahi dengan keanekaragaman hayati laut. Keanekaragaman hayati laut yang dimiliki Indonesia terdiri dari berbagai jenis terumbu karang hingga sumber daya ikan, termasuk spesies hiu yang cukup unik, yakni hiu tikus. Hiu tikus sendiri merupakan salah satu jenis hiu yang saat ini sudah berada di ambang kepunahan akibat aktivitas perburuan liar. Tanpa adanya upaya untuk mengkonservasi kehidupan hiu tikus, maka populasi hiu tikus ini akan semakin berkurang dan lama kelamaan dapat punah. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menunjukkan urgensi dari konservasi hiu tikus demi menjaga populasi hiu tikus di perairan Indonesia. Hasil penelitian akan menunjukkan peran dari hukum serta kebiasaan masyarakat lokal dalam upaya konservasi hiu tikus di perairan Indonesia.
