Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peran meditasi Buddhis dalam pengembangan ekspresi artistik serta mengidentifikasi tantangan penerapannya dalam konteks seni kontemporer. Studi ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif melalui metode tinjauan pustaka dengan analisis isi terhadap berbagai sumber ilmiah yang relevan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa dalam perspektif Buddhis, seni tidak hanya dipahami sebagai ekspresi estetika, tetapi juga sebagai praktik meditatif yang menekankan kesadaran penuh (mindfulness), kekosongan, dan pengalaman non-konseptual. Meditasi Buddhis terbukti memberikan kontribusi signifikan terhadap peningkatan kualitas psikologis, kreativitas, serta performativitas seniman. Implementasi meditasi ditemukan dalam berbagai disiplin seni, seperti zazen dalam seni peran, meditasi insight dalam seni lukis, praktik pernapasan dalam seni vokal, meditasi sonik dalam musik, serta meditasi gerak dalam seni bela diri, yang seluruhnya berlandaskan pada integrasi kesadaran dan tubuh. Namun demikian, penerapannya menghadapi berbagai tantangan, antara lain keterbatasan waktu, hambatan budaya, keterbatasan bukti empiris, serta resistensi institusional. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa meditasi Buddhis memiliki potensi besar sebagai pendekatan integratif dalam seni untuk mendukung pengembangan artistik sekaligus transformasi spiritual, meskipun diperlukan penguatan kajian empiris dan pengembangan model implementasi yang kontekstual.
