Strategi Intervensi Militer Operasi 17 Agustus: Studi Kasus Penumpasan PRRI di Sumatera Barat Periode 1957–1958

Pemberontakan Pemerintahan Revolusioner Republik Indonesia (PRRI) pada 1958 merupakan konflik internal yang mengancam stabilitas politik dan keutuhan wilayah Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia (NKRI). Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis bentuk intervensi militer pemerintah Indonesia melalui Operasi 17 Agustus dalam penumpasan PRRI di Sumatera Barat periode 1957–1958 serta menganalisis faktor internal dan eksternal yang memengaruhi keputusan pemerintah mempertahankan intervensi tersebut. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif-analitis. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui studi dokumentasi, observasi, dan wawancara semi-terstruktur dengan informan yang memiliki kompetensi dalam sejarah militer dan pertahanan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Operasi 17 Agustus dilaksanakan secara bertahap dan terintegrasi melalui operasi gabungan antarmatra, dukungan intelijen dan deception, serta pengendalian jalur logistik dan aset strategis. Intervensi berhasil melemahkan kekuatan PRRI dan mengembalikan kendali pemerintah pusat, meskipun menimbulkan konsekuensi sosial dan politik.
