Peran Penting Diplomasi Untuk Meningkatkan Ketahanan Nasional

Diplomasi adalah seni, ilmu pengetahuan, dan sarana yang digunakan negara, kelompok, atau individu untuk menjalankan urusan mereka, dengan cara melindungi kepentingan mereka dan mempromosikan hubungan politik, ekonomi, budaya, atau ilmu pengetahuan mereka, sambil mempertahankan hubungan yang damai. Diplomasi menjadi salah satu wadah aktualisasi hubungan antar negara di kancah politik internasional untuk menyampaikan kepentingan nasional suatu negara kepada negara lain. Kepentingan nasional suatu negara tentunya menjadi misi diplomasi bagi negara tersebut dalam lingkup praktik internasional. Praktik keberhasilan diplomasi suatu negara tentu saja dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor dan faktor power menjadi salah satu faktor penentu keberhasilan diplomasi suatu negara. Indonesia telah menerapkan diplomasi pertahanan sebagai alat penyeimbang dari hard power. Namun, diplomasi pertahanan yang sesuai memerlukan kompetensi yang memadai dari orang-orang yang terlibat dalam diplomasi tersebut. Institusi Kementerian Pertahanan dan TNI perlu memperhatikan hal ini dalam mengembangkan personelnya agar memiliki kompetensi yang baik dalam menangani diplomasi pertahanan.
