Abstract

Mitos padi semakin tinggi semakin merunduk telah lama hadir dalam budaya agraris di Indonesia. Mitos ini sering diinterpretasikan secara harfiah sebagai simbol kerendahan hati dan ketekunan. Namun, penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dalam proses pemerolehan informasinya, dan menggunakan pendekatan semiotik untuk mengungkap makna yang lebih mendalam di balik mitos tersebut. Penelitian ini mengkaji berbagai sumber terbaru, termasuk penelitian linguistik, untuk memahami konteks dan makna simbolis padi dalam budaya Indonesia. Pendekatan semiotic dengan metode pemerolehan data deskriptif kualitatif digunakan untuk membongkar berbagai tanda dan makna yang terkandung dalam mitos padi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mitos padi semakin tinggi semakin merunduk memiliki makna yang kompleks dan multidimensi. Mitos ini tidak hanya tentang kerendahan hati dan ketekunan, tetapi juga tentang keseimbangan, kesuburan, dan hubungan manusia dengan alam. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi baru dalam memahami makna mitos padi semakin tinggi semakin merunduk.
