About the Journal

Journal of Citizen Research and Development (JCRD) is an open-access scholarly journal dedicated to advancing research on citizen engagement, community development, and the processes through which individuals and communities contribute to social, institutional, and sustainable development. The journal provides a multidisciplinary platform for original empirical research, theoretical and conceptual studies, systematic and critical reviews, and practice-oriented scholarship examining contemporary issues related to civic participation, community empowerment, social innovation, public engagement, local development, citizenship, governance, education, and inclusive development. JCRD welcomes research that explores the relationships between citizens, communities, institutions, and public or private organizations, particularly studies that generate evidence for strengthening participation, social capacity, resilience, equity, and collective well-being. The journal places particular emphasis on methodological rigor, contextual relevance, originality, and clear contributions to theory, policy, and practice. By connecting academic inquiry with community-based knowledge and development initiatives, JCRD seeks to foster meaningful dialogue among researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and communities and to promote evidence-informed approaches to inclusive and sustainable development across diverse national and international contexts.
