Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali pengaruh bahasa gaul terhadap penggunaan bahasa Indonesia oleh mahasiswa Universitas Negeri Medan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif. Dalam penelitian ini, teknik pengumpulan data yang dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner yang disebarkan kepada 52 responden mahasiswa Universitas Negeri Medan. Analisis data dilakukan dengan cara analisis data deskriptif. Menurut hasil penelitian 44,2% dari 52 responden menunjukkan bahwa bahasa gaul mempengaruhi kemampuan dalam berbahasa indonesia itu netral, 30,8% dari 52 responden menunjukkan bahwa bahasa gaul itu dapat mempengaruhi kemampuan dalam berbahasa indonesia, 11,5% dari responden menunjukkan bahwa bahasa gaul sangat mempengaruhi kemampuan dalam berbahasa indonesia, 13,5% dari 52 responden menunjukkan bahwa bahasa gaul tidak mempengaruhi kemampuan dalam berbahasa indonesia.
