Abstract

Penelitian ini mengaitkan konsep bangun datar dengan Budaya adat istiadat khususnya dalam arsitektur bangunan. Konsep bangun datar yang digali meliputi segitiga, trapesium, persegi panjang, dan persegi. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengeksplorasi konsep geometri pada ornamen Rumah Batak Bolon Toba. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografi yang mengintegrasikan kajian teoritis dan empiris yang diperoleh dari hasil observasi dengan menggunakan analisis data Penelitian kepustakaan. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa bangunan-bangunan yang terdapat di rumah adat batak toba memiliki berbagai konsep bangun datar bersisi tegak yaitu konsep, prisma, dan balok. Hasil penelitian ini menemukan konsep matematika ornamen Rumah Bolon yaitu segi lima, lingkaran, segitiga, kerucut, persegi panjang.
