Keterkaitan Ekspresi Emosi dan Toxic Masculinity pada Mahasiswa Laki Laki

Budaya patriarki yang masih melekat dalam masyarakat Indonesia membentuk pandangan bahwa laki-laki harus tampil kuat, tegas, dan mampu mengendalikan emosi. Pandangan ini sering menekan ekspresi emosi yang dianggap lemah, seperti kesedihan atau ketakutan, sehingga mendorong munculnya toxic masculinity. Tekanan tersebut dapat menghambat kemampuan individu mengenali dan mengekspresikan emosi secara sehat serta memengaruhi keseimbangan psikologis. Penelitian ini menganalisis keterkaitan antara ekspresi emosi dan toxic masculinity pada mahasiswa laki-laki. Pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional digunakan untuk melihat arah dan kekuatan hubungan kedua variabel. Partisipan merupakan mahasiswa laki-laki aktif yang dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling, dengan data dikumpulkan secara daring menggunakan Emotional Expressivity Scale (EES) dan Toxic Masculinity Scale-28 (TMS-28). Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji korelasi Pearson melalui SPSS versi 27. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan negatif antara ekspresi emosi dan toxic masculinity, yang berarti semakin tinggi kemampuan mengekspresikan emosi, semakin rendah kecenderungan terhadap nilai-nilai maskulinitas yang kaku. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya penguatan ekspresi emosional untuk mendukung kesehatan psikologis dan membangun pola maskulinitas yang lebih adaptif di kalangan mahasiswa laki-laki.
