Pengaruh Filsafat Progresivisme Terhadap Diskusi Kelas di MAN 1 Medan

Positivist philosophy, which emphasizes empirical facts, rationality, and objectivity, significantly influences the implementation of discussion methods in education. This approach can enhance students' logical and scientific thinking, particularly in constructing arguments based on data. However, if applied rigidly, it risks limiting opportunities for reflective thinking and students’ subjective values. Therefore, a balanced implementation strategy is essential. Suggestions to optimize positivism-based discussion methods include: balancing facts and opinions, encouraging critical thinking, using open-ended questions, fostering scientific attitudes, and integrating humanistic approaches. As a result, classroom discussions can become more effective and meaningful, encompassing students’ cognitive, affective, and social aspects. Filsafat positivisme, yang menekankan pada fakta empiris, rasionalitas, dan objektivitas, memberikan pengaruh signifikan terhadap penerapan metode diskusi dalam pembelajaran. Pendekatan ini dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir logis dan ilmiah siswa, terutama dalam menyusun argumen berbasis data. Namun, jika diterapkan secara kaku, pendekatan ini berisiko mengurangi ruang bagi pemikiran reflektif dan nilai-nilai subjektif siswa. Oleh karena itu, perlu strategi penerapan yang seimbang. Beberapa saran untuk mengoptimalkan metode diskusi berbasis positivisme meliputi: menyeimbangkan antara fakta dan opini, mendorong berpikir kritis, menggunakan pertanyaan terbuka, membangun sikap ilmiah, serta menggabungkan pendekatan humanistik. Dengan demikian, diskusi di kelas dapat berjalan lebih efektif dan bermakna, mencakup aspek kognitif, afektif, dan sosial siswa.
