Justice Amnesty Law and Undoing Journal (JALU) is an open-access scholarly journal dedicated to advancing critical and interdisciplinary research on justice, amnesty, law, and processes of legal and institutional transformation. The journal provides a forum for original empirical research, theoretical and conceptual studies, comparative legal analysis, systematic and critical reviews, and interdisciplinary scholarship examining contemporary questions of justice, accountability, legal reform, human rights, criminal justice, restorative approaches, and the evolving relationship between law and society. JALU welcomes research that critically examines legal institutions, normative frameworks, mechanisms of accountability and reconciliation, amnesty policies, transitional justice, dispute resolution, and processes aimed at addressing or transforming the consequences of injustice and institutional harm. The journal particularly values scholarship that demonstrates doctrinal or methodological rigor, analytical depth, originality, and meaningful implications for legal practice, policymaking, institutional development, and the protection of rights. By bringing together diverse perspectives from legal studies and related social sciences, JALU seeks to encourage critical dialogue on how legal systems respond to conflict, wrongdoing, social change, and demands for justice while contributing to the development of more equitable, accountable, and responsive legal institutions in diverse national and international contexts.
